Welcome to the Brewery.
My name is Ákos Kreutz and I’ve been a homebrewer for a little more than a year. I was always a big beer fanatic, however, since the rise of Craft Beer Culture in Hungary, especially in my hometown Budapest, my love for beer just grew even stronger. I always wanted to experience beer brewing and when Covid hit the world, I figured it’s as good a time as any to start this new hobby (especially with the ton of free time on my hands).
The idea behind this blog is to show the world what it looks like being a beginner homebrew in the middle of Europe. Also, as my profession has nothing to do with brewing (I’m an IT guy, always been) it might show some interesting insights to the world of homebrewing.
Okay… okay that’s neat, but why is this a bilingual site, you might ask? Well, there ain't too many Hungarian guides to homebrewing, so I wanted to give back a little to the community.
What can you expect from this blog:
Detailed grain to glass guides, with a lot of experimental recipes.
Honest writing, If I screw up something I won’t hide it, so we all can learn about it.
IT guides, with open source code to give alternative solutions to some problems.
Learning through experiments. I learned a lot since my first batch, but there's still a long way to go.
Open community.
I hope you join me on this journey.
